Declan has joined us at JD Scott + Co this year from wet and windy Ireland to the Australian sunshine. He is an ACA qualified Chartered Accountant with Chartered Accountants Ireland. With over 5 years of experience in financial accounting, taxation services, internal audit, and public services. He has led financial and audit teams for a wide range of large government agencies to small business entities.
As Senior Accountant with us, Declan plays a vital role in overseeing and managing the accounting and tax services we provide to our clients. He values the time spent assisting clients and attending to the day-to-day needs of their business. Using experience and AASB knowledge, he continues to provide financial accounting support to clients and assist the team with any queries they might have.
Previously in Ireland he has completed a Certificate in Leadership & Management, a valuable source to provide clients with organizational leadership and communication within a business. He also obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance and a certificate in business studies.
His ambition for the future is to obtain a professional financial advisory qualification. Also, further into the future he can see himself progressing to be a Chartered Tax Advisor through the Tax Institute.
When Declan is not rummaging through tax returns and financial reports, he enjoys going to the gym, an occasional golf tee time, watching footy and checking out the Sydney social life.
